San Diego Mesa College recently installed a wellness vending machine on its Student Services Center’s 4th floor, funded through California’s AB 2482 wellness vending pilot grant. The machine provides affordable—or free—access to menstrual products, contraceptives, emergency contraception, OTC medications, and pregnancy tests. Users navigate via a touch-screen interface that also offers health education. The initiative, which prioritizes equity and affordability, is part of a broader state effort across community colleges.
